Okay, disclaimer. I live in South Florida sooo we’re rocking open toed shoes and dresses year round. The difference being I shy away from pastels and sink into chocolate browns, warm ivories, and olive greens. You’ll still scroll past a wool sweater and quilts below because I’m delulu, but also - I needed a good airport sweater, and who doesn’t love a picnic blanket?? C’mon.

Closet pieces I’m pulling out for Fall
Starting out strong - I saved this, but lost the link :( Here’s a few similar options:
Option A for $6.99 // Option B for $225
Option C for $14
J.CREW Faux-wrap midi dress in paisley for $278
Y’all. I told you paisley was coming back! And this is exactly what I meant. Not stuffy, but crisp with that timeless pattern. And they nailed the silhouette.

LEFT: SHUTZ Enola Sporty Woven Leather Flat for $158
RIGHT: J.CREW Leni made-in-Spain lace-up sandals in leather for $278
ZARA Woven Slingback Flats for $49.90
A netted flat I’m on board with - especially come Fall when I’m less cautious of the bad tan lines.
SEZANE Gaspard Cardigan in Navy for $120
I purchased this piece last week and worth. every. penny. The quality! The color! That neckline! Peep into the link and you’ll see they’re demonstrating above how you can wear it backwards (my go to) or keep it tradish with buttons in the front. Capsule wardrobe = ✅
CITIZENS OF HUMANITY Brynn Drawstring Trouser for $298
I follow Pookie on IG (who doesn’t? don’t lie). She bought this pair of jeans for her pregnancy but baby or no, everyone in the reviews is raving that they’re oh so soft and look cool when you cuff them.
For the home 🏠
ETSY VintageByRiis “Pair of white Vip wall lights designed by Jørgen Gammelgaard, 1980s” for $524.35
And plug-in in case your wall isn’t wired for sconces or you’re looking for a renter friendly option :)
ETSY VintageInModeDeluxe “Mid-century Modern Sunshine Design Opaline Glass Flush Mount Light, 1960s, Germany” for $1,351.67
Didn’t you hear?? Eleanor Cording Booth approves of sunburst ceiling lights and for good reason.
BLU DOT Splash Coat Rack for $395
We had this at my old office and granted, it may not have the most hooks, but is that a bad thing? Less “hooks” may mean less junk, right? It comes in a variety of colors and feels very clean lined for a more contemporary space. It’s pretty, okay ?! Ya got me.
ETSY ARTlerShop “Designerkissen Wolf Bauer Knoll Kissenbezug Baumwolle Samt Vintage Retro Textildesign Design” for $407.83
A cotton velvet pillow with a fascinating design and the best colors. Don’t laugh, but I may use it as inspo for an abstract painting in our home.
LAFAYETTE STUDIO table lamp for $1,715
PETITE MOTIF Stitched Sconces for $280/each
Clicking check out now to install beside our bed. I’ll have an electrician add a pull-cord, but I love these. And I haven’t seen comparable sconces quality wise with the same stitching detail (see table lamp above).
p.s. trade discount brings them to $250/each

NAP Quilts - price upon request
Please zoom in on these, I beg of you. Each quilt is one of a kind. Use them to snuggle up in as the weather cools or lay on the grass for an end of summer picnic.
Pass it down to your grandkids :’-)
BOSTON GENERAL STORE Handmade Steel Fish Clip for $2.95/each
The durability of steel and “pretty darned cute”. Little details like this (rather than a plastic jumbo chip clip) bring interest into a home.
A space I can’t quit staring at:

Life Lately…
I’ve been getting riled UP.
I’m in my Huberman/Peter Attia podcast era and learning about the decline in human healthspan over the past 100 years, augmented greatly by nefarious incentives (ie, $$ from food and pharmaceutical industries to our venal government), and it leaves me exasperated. Near tears, I tell ya. Especially when I empathize how most people trust studies on nutrition or the food pyramid pushed onto us by those meant to protect and serve citizens… I blindly trusted them myself for +25 years…
There’s nothing more design centric than the human body and interconnectivity of all living things within nature. Learning how to take care and reprogram my brain in this modern world of propaganda and payola has been the focus lately.
No longer do we run from lions, tigers, and bears - there’s a new predator on the loose and disguised as our protector.
I digress! I could do a post on the power of design within marketing but not sure if that’d be of interest? Thoughts?
On a brighter note, our banquette finally came in! And I hated it.
Haha no, no, the size is perfect and it’s so comfortable (sometimes I let my body just… lie down when writing at the table. It’s the best.), but the white linen/ticking stripe combo didn’t fit well into our dusty dark blue dining room. So I pulled one of the many bolts of fabric from beneath our bed - a green cotton velvet - and sewed a new slipcover. Boom. It’s perfect. Oddly matches the grass in the photograph above too.
What are you up to? Is anyone vacationing for Labor Day and where to?? Hopefully the open toed shoes come in handy… but hey, it’s the best time to buy summer pieces with all the soon to come sales!
Till next time I’ll be jealously watching everyone make chili and Autumn in New York. My delulu half might turn the ac real low.
xoxo,
Wendie
