"Instagram Inspired" by Laura Gonzalez + an accessible version with links
Inspiration from interior designer Laura Gonzalez with links to recreate the look at a more accessible price point

I spent Sunday casually stalking IG fashion influencers (love the links) on the prowl to perfect this year’s Thanksgiving outfit.
Go ahead, call me out. We know I’ll add a million things to half a million different carts only to cop-out and wear the same turtle neck and dark wash jeans as last year. Call me a retail tease, but who knows? I may brave the cart checkout of a colorful ballet flat (am I “so last season”?)… decisions, decisions.
You’re not yawning, I’m yawning. LOL point is that in the midst of my superfluous search, I came across “get the look” ensembles inspired by effortlessly styled city gals.
I loved these posts because there’s a chance you something similar to what you already own, and realize getting those earrings or colorful ballet flats would tie it all together (as pictured). Viola! Thanks, Kathleen.
Fashion and interiors are mega adjacent.
It hit me that I could twist this idea into an interiors inspired post that’d link pieces to curate your home rather than closet. How helpful would that be??

My Instagram is where I follow designers, vendors, photographers, interior stylists, artisans, design magazines, etc. So my feed is pure inspo.
I know it can feel as though you come across a room design right up your alley online, but it takes a second too long to ponder translating it to your own home. Instead, you saved it to a folder that’ll never be reopened. Life moves fast, the scroll moves faster.
Alas, our short attention spans.
I got you. These posts will offer the same inspiration with look-alike links you can act upon and implement in your home.
Hopefully, if this particular designer/room curation doesn’t align with your taste, then the next one will. But I hope with each post you find a spark of inspiration, or unexpected piece that’d tie your room together, in the same way my eye caught that IG ensemble’s ballet flats (currently in cart).
Some may say it’s a giveaway as an interior designer to link sources, but I don’t believe linking a few things on Substack is equivalent to what I do.
This post doesn’t include millwork drawings, selecting paint colors, finishes, tracking orders, coordinating with subcontractors, budgeting, installation, the list goes on. It’s simply 2% of it all - just the skim milk, not the whole - but could still be helpful to you :)
I recommend scrolling beyond the links below to explore the Laura Gonzalez’s project that inspired it all. I’m obsessed with her mastery of the mix that feels contemporary yet comfortable.
Please note this post isn’t in effort to duplicate her design (impossible, she’s that good); rather, to pull inspiration from her "La Muette" project into our own homes and at a more accessible price point. It may simply be a source for a similar curved sofa to recreate that sense of welcome, or needing that funky pillow that’s the perfect fit for your home. It’s fun! That’s it. Now let’s get to it.

Every aspect of this Ranelagh apartment reflects a subtle marriage between the timeless elegance of the 1930s and refined modernity. Bas-reliefs by Mascarello, light fixtures by Patrice Dangel, and sculptures by Laurent Dufour imbue each room with a unique atmosphere, where fine craftsmanship meets contemporary luxury. Guided by the creative vision of Laura Gonzalez, this reinterpretation of Art Deco takes on a new dimension, offering a perfect balance between tradition and innovation. Every carefully thought-out detail contributes to creating an ambiance filled with sophistication and charm, making this apartment a true gem, where past and present are harmoniously fused.

What do we think? Isn’t she fab? The space feels like an elevated city condo version of Emma Chamberlain’s home.
Let me know in the comments if you have specific designers, rooms, or styles you’d like to see in this format e.g. Kelly Wearstler, Ariel Okin, or Pierce & Ward; styles more minimalist, Nancy Meyers-esque, eclectic, you name it. ❤️
