Hi! I’m Wendie, an interior designer with an obsession for all things design wise. Whether it’s your living room or winter coat, I believe that the details matter and enhance our every day life, even (and especially) when we don’t know it.
Dear Design Wise, what’s this about?
Design Wise is a weekly(ish) not-so-serious newsletter taking a deeper dive into all things design wise: interior design, style, travel, links to everything I've loved (or longed for). Plus a few unrelated loose leaf thoughts. Welcome!
What is your background?
After obtaining a 4-year CIDA accredited degree in Interior Architecture, I spent four years as a designer in NYC managing projects across the US, before moving to Florida with my husband and launching Wendie Power Interiors where I now work with design clients in the Palm Beach county area and beyond.
Who are you, really?
I was born in Weiden, Germany — don’t worry, even my German friends don’t know about it — grew up moving from state to state (mostly southern), worked in NYC post college for a few years, and now live in Boca Raton, Florida since late 2023.
Duke college pined after me once I took the ACT in the 6th grade, so you know I’m not dumb, and my mom kept me in a bowl cut most of my childhood, so you know my ego is in check.
I worked in NYC, living out the interior design version of Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada.
I’m a die-hard, borderline clinical optimist, incapable of not squeezing the cheeks of my family. I’m also 28, not 82, as I make out.
I read and hike a ton (more so walk now as Florida is flatlined) and love experimenting with layouts, pattern, and color in our home.
I’m married to Bryan - a man who lives in said design lab, wants to raise a flock of kids with me, is a learning machine, light hearted, good looking, and protects me from dog-sized iguanas.
Why subscribe?
I’ll be sharing insider knowledge (not me posing as a top secret spy), design-inspired travel guides, and links for the home and closet. That’s it - a weekly newsletter, made with lotsa love, and delivered to your inbox.
I’m happy you’re here and hope you stick around (and subscribe! or tap that little ❤️ if you read something you like).
xoxo,
Wendie
